simple pitches

I'm a musician.

I was driving to a rehearsal for a new artist, listening to their CD, trying to do mental takedowns of the songs. All I needed was a simple starting pitch, and I could figure out the rest of the tune from there.

I found myself punching through the songs on my iPod until I found one I knew the key of, and then having to figure out from that what key the new songs were in.

I wondered why there wasn't a simple place to just get pitches, on my phone, browser, or iPod. That's all, just a starting pitch. From that, I can figure everything else out myself.

So, I built Simple Pitches. It does just one thing - click a link, get the pitch.

To make it useful, there's a mobile version, and a downloadable zip file with all the mp3s that you can import to your iPod (or, whatever you crazy kids use these days).

I built it to scratch my own itch. I thought it might do the same for you. Share and enjoy.
